We are often asked how our products are created and about the history of our company. When we respond that we are an Italian company, that chose not to offshore and continue producing in Italy, our interlocutors often look at us with astonishment. Today, we want to explain the reason behind our choice and, above all, why we continue to believe that Made in Italy must be defended.
Our beginnings
Let’s start from the beginning. Our story began as a third-party manufacturing company that produced exclusively for large companies in the world of upholstered furniture and duvets. At a certain point, seeing the know-how we had acquired, we asked ourselves: why not develop our own brand that represents our identity? This is how Punto Piuma Home was born—initially a pilot project within our company, which posed a great challenge but also pushed us to believe in our capabilities. So, we decided to take more risks than ever, aware that having our own brand would be a great vehicle to express our creativity, love for design, and ultimately, our love for our country.
The evolution
While many companies in our industry were already offshoring to countries that offered more favorable economic conditions for business development, we chose to differentiate ourselves and continue playing this game at home, so to speak. Yes, because it’s not exactly a game. Quality, comfort, design, and refinement have always been our top values, as well as the cornerstone principles that define the concept of Made in Italy.
Among the reasons why many companies—both large and medium-sized—offshore is primarily the reduction of labor costs and business expenses. These are often very attractive conditions for entrepreneurs who see their costs reduced and profits increase at the expense of product quality.
Years have passed since our choice, and to this day, we are still convinced that we acted correctly and that preserving Made in Italy (the real one) means defending small and medium-sized Italian businesses. Our decision proves to be right, especially in this market scenario where there are numerous (poor) copies of our products. This is unfortunately a cross-cutting phenomenon that affects both food products and design.
Italy has a very long-standing tradition in design, and enhancing this aspect means, first and foremost, preserving, defending, and promoting it. The quality of Italian products is tangible: the fabrics, finishes, and attention to detail are aspects that never go unnoticed in our sector, and in this value, we want to continue to believe.
Italian craft tradition
In response to the demands of our clients, we are proud to remain a stronghold of Made in Italy, a value in which we deeply believe, a banner under which we work every day to offer our best to consumers. Our laboratories are located in Italy and are rich in the experiential heritage that our Italian craft tradition has passed down to us.
Made-to-measure creation
Among the characteristics that distinguish artisan production, there is the ability to create custom products that meet the real needs of our clients. While we have a wide range of products, it is also true that we offer a vast range of customization options.
The fabrics available are always chosen with great care. On one hand, we pay special attention to their performance (for example, offering fabrics that are water-resistant, fire-retardant, etc.), while on the other hand, we are always attentive to design trends and offer patterns and textures that are both fashionable and aligned with more classic tastes. And speaking of coverings, it is also possible to have a personalized texture with the logo of your establishment or simply with the print you prefer.
Similarly, the fillings can also be customized according to the tastes of our clients and the product’s intended placement. We offer soft seats filled with polyester beads, as well as sofas stuffed with soft goose down.
